I am enjoying this more now!! Esther and Ada’s relationship is so sweet. Esther’s chapters are so much more enjoyable compared to the third person pov that it switches to at times- largely because those chapters tend to follow characters that I simply don’t care much for despite understanding their relevance to the plot… Smallweed family I’m looking at you

I am completely and utterly bored. The issue is simply that it is far too dragged out- ironically much like the court case the story centres itself around 😣😣

200 pages in and just cant really tell what could possibly happen that makes having 700 pages left to read make sense. I like Esther’s narrative and hope Ada and Richard end up happy 🙌 really struggling with this one but in fairness it is the longest classic I’ve ever read
