I’m deeply unimpressed with this self flagellation that the townspeople are encouraging. It would be one thing if this was a town of people who speak openly about how they accept these aiming for redemption and Nathaniel was aware of the fact that Violet did genuinely horrible things, but he thought she was just a magically powerful girl with low self esteem, not a fucking supervillain.
