Thought the unattributed dialogue would be hard to follow. Found it surprisingly easy. Seems to me Gaddis is interested in the lies being told, the things being ignored, left unsaid. There's obviously some disgust, probably a lot of it at how America works. The meat is in the dialogue. I've laughed out a lot. And thankfully my French isn's so bad; I'm able to follow Liz's conversation with the French maid.
