In prologue, thinly veiled Berlusconi meets with the Emir of Qahar (!), planning a regime change for Tunisia. Then we are in the remote village of Nawa. In length, we follow Le Don and his daily business as a beekeeper. Strange people come to Nawa. There will be an election! Young revolutionaries with pamphlets the people cannot read. The party of god with food, clothes, duvets. So far, very in-your-face.

The principle is deus ex machina. Suddenly, a relative appears who is married to a university professor. They find the antidote to the killer hornets. This occasion is used to display the fundamentalists opposition to education. The couple travels to Japan where (naturally) a former student lives. Occasion for boring travel guide descriptions to show the contrasts and sentimentality for being in unison with nature.

Scenes from villagers lifes to portrait their poverty. Most capitulate in resignation, a few try to escape to menial jobs in the city.
An excursion to Don's time as a beekeeper in Saudi Arabia to show the hypocrisy of those financing the religious fundamentalists.
The parable begins to take form with the attack of the foreign hornets on Don's beehives.
