The majority of this is Raoul having temper tantrums over the fact that Christine cares for those other than himself.

There was no need to turn a kiss between Raoul and Christine into an incestuous descriptive line.

Raoul is actually so obsessed with Christine that they wrote the song Obsessica about him hundreds of years later.

"two hundred kilos on the head of a concierge. That was her sole epitaph" I have to admit I found that rather funny. It is supposed to be showing how people's lives get reduced to something blunt and unfeeling by the media but I read it as dark comedy.
