I could not be more charmed. I am involuntarily smiling as I listen. And Joel Leslie's narration makes this even better.

This has been a wall-to-wall joy so far. Funny and charming and just lovely. Queer historical romance can ignore all the strictures of the time, but Sebastian doesn't do that, and still brings fun, sexy, sweet things to the page. I have liked the few books of hers I have read and clearly need to read more.

Make sure you have The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes ready for when you finish this.

I already double-checked to make sure it is available on Hoopla (it is!), so I will take your advice and get to it sooner rather than later. I just love this book. Kit and Percy are the best, and their relationship development is so much deeper and more complex than most romance. I love that there was a discussion of "if this person does not share my fundamental ethics and beliefs, do I really want to be with them even if I love them?" That rarely happens in romance, It is not all hearts and flowers, though there are pelent of hearts and flowers too.
Perfect Crimes continues those conversations, and has timeline overlap, so I always suggest reading them close together. I love these books so much.
