Interesting characterisation of the narrator. Dr. Rieux's section is written similarly to how the earlier pages described Oran—exceptionally ordinary. However, the knowledge of the warnings and the ominous title adds an undertone of dread to each page, making those ordinary moments devastating to read. The subtle build up is spectacular!
