genuine question ! I haven’t read this before but I really wanted to read it before I read James by Percival Everett so I actually understood the retelling. Has anyone read this before I understand that people did used to use the nword willy nilly but it’s soooo frequent here it’s making it uncomfortable to read. is it like to kill a mocking bird where it’s challenged or what’s the vibe?
