This book is truly starting to show itself to me! Chapter 11 was another deep monologue from the Judge that id love to dive into, and chapter 12… oh god. Pure unadulterated violence of the highest form. Mcarthy pulls zero punches and it is so so so grotesque yet it is what makes this book exactly what it is

Chapter 10 easily the peak of this book so far. I absolutely love the symbolism of the judge being this deity/embodiment of the devil and the ambiguity behind him. Paring his backstory with this story of descending into this hell like setting is absolutely perfect!

No clue what the fortunes mean for this rough cast of characters yet but I’m positive the pieces will come together. I love how already Judge Holden is given this “dark deity” like ambiguity to his figure and presence!

What an insanely incredible setup of nightmarish imagery for this red dessert. The invasion of the scalper Indians on the army is so horrifyingly violent and yet impossible to look away from. I understand why this book is impossible to become a movie already!

Already such an incredible setup of atmosphere of the west, introduction of the kid, and creation of the horrifying presence of the Judge
