I was not expecting the book to switch from past tense to present tense, but I like the paradoxical nature of the book’s past and present tense

And here we see the problem of traditional rushing women to marry their boyfriends in their late teens or early twenties. Holy shit I feel so bad for Natalie

I keep having to remind myself every time I get annoyed with Natalie that there are women who truly think the way she does. Women who look down on other women because they didn’t choose to become mothers and wives in their early twenties or late teens and will be miserable in a male dominated workforce.

I like the culture shock Natalie experiences at college because it reminds me of how brainwashed I was in thinking that the Patriarchy was normal for women like me. Do I think the author was a little too harsh on the girls bullying her? A little. But considering that I dated a misogynist who had similar complaints about the women he’s buddies with now, I don’t see anything wildly inaccurate.
