Oh. My. God. What is this book? The audacity of this woman to rant about an old schoolmate being secretly obsessed with her while she goes on about all the things the woman posts online, as if she’s not the creepy one stalking people? I’m not sure how long I can last through this woman’s incomprehensible ego.

"I wanted the world to see Yesteryear Ranch through my eyes, but everything looked better through Shannon's gaze than my own." Shocking that contempt doesn't look as good as people who have a genuine caring bone in their body?

Just wow... the things she says to her sister when she says she's going to separate from her husband? She truly is the most cynical person I have ever had to read from. And then the whole thing after sleeping with her husband where she's justifying this whole ordeal as some Godly trial she is destined to learn from, although she doesn't know what. And suddenly, its like I'm staring straight into the patriarchy.

I mean, cosplaying a tradwife doesn’t sound all that fun to begin with, but being one in the mid-1800s would be even more sucky. There is an intensity to this book that feels important but also a level of gratuitous that feels sickening. I have a lot of feelings about this one.

Wow, holy shit. That’s a lot to unpack. Yet somehow, I think having a book like this to show the other side of the argument is actually really important. I actually think this is the closest thing to a feminist critique that I isn’t just some ultra-conservative Christian propaganda shit. Disappointing that the main character could go through that experience and turn into her own version of her enemies though.
