I love this because it shows that no matter what a person has made Christ has come down and saved all them. It’s dark when you think about someone who murdered somebody.
The Chaplain would not kneel to pray
By his dishonoured grave:
Nor mark it with that blessed Cross
That Christ for sinners gave,
Because the man was one of those
Whom Christ came down to save.

I love how he describes the clouds a silver sailing by and then I love how he depicts the Sky for the people in jail
Upon that little tent of blue
Which prisoners call the sky,
And at every drifting cloud that went
With sails of silver by.

. It’s fascinating to think that when a murderer dies, few people may mourn them. Yet Christ came to save even that person from their sins. I’d never thought about it that way before.
Yet all is well; he has but passed
To Life's appointed bourne:
And alien tears will fill for him
Pity's long-broken urn,
For his mourners will be outcast men,
And outcasts always mourn.
