Part 5: Hidden Rock
Now this book is about anomalies, but the true anomaly is the book itself.
I just read a fight scene where for 6 pages of my kindle where there wasn’t a single full stop, just commas after commas and it was such a thrilling experience because it really caught you up in the fight and it made it feel endless and felt like it would never stop.
See, even that takes breathe to read. Try 6 pages.

Part 4: The Construct
This was the best part yet. You learn so much about every characters past, the new characters feel real and super important, and there is plenty of subplots which feel important.
Definitely reinvigorated me for the rest of the book. But can we not have some suspense? A strange plot line gets sprinkled one that should be left for a few chapters, but then it’s on the next page…

Part 3: The Kingdom of the Scorched Dome
I would’ve liked more of this. Fast Daggers seemed really fun and a longer section would have made this book much better.
I’m a little confused though. How can you go from one character’s perspective to another in the same chapter with no page break?
Just adds to the weirdness of this book I guess…

Part 2: The Sinker
So is this where we meet the actual main character?
I’m a little confused, but so far I have made my own conclusions and I am liking the idea of the book.
Can it hold my interest? I’m not sure.

Part 1: Emery
This is very weird. You just get thrown it, no background context, no nothing. Just the void.
I guess that’s what happens when you read a ~350 page standalone.
