So far the writing is tight- you get a good idea of how self-aware Claire is and how she presents herself differently than how she thinks/feels. There are a lot of half-allusions and hints to past events dropped at the end of sections without clear answers, right before the focus changes. So I feel like I have like 3-4 tabs open in my mind about Claire's past life, and it feels jumbled as much as tension building.
