If Ness had changed every single line, it wouldn't be the same. But since she used one line, there's a name for that: Literary Allusion. Instead of getting people to jump off heights, maybe Graffam needs to teach her students some writing techniques, and then they won't want to do some murder...

"The idea would have been wasted."

Wtf This isn't the worst thing she's done, but she really is a piece of work.

Surely Graffam disappearing for the evening is the reason for the death of the ho-ho birds. Also, wtf is a mythical version of a mythical creature?? Mythical squared?

Having just read a bio of Mary Shelley and her mother Mary Wollstonecraft, Romantic Outlaws, that's factually incorrect. The 1818 ed was edited with input from Percy Shelley. The 1831 ed (long after Mr Shelley's death) was revised by Mary alone. She was older, had lost her husband and two infant children and every change she made was hers. For such a pretentious story, it's strange to see tbis glaring error
