Oof. The novel captures the series's tone well, and both the legacy characters and the new additions are likeable enough so far, but the creative choices are... problematic. Seemingly killing off major chars off-screen, involuntary magical pregnancy and shipping a lesbian char and her male ex... I'm close to moving this to DNF.
