I read this entire book just to get to this scene. Their little family🥹

"—too young to have achieved high rank or authority."

That's Warner talking about Sebastian. Warner's brother, James, is a captain at the ripe age of 21... Blood runs thicker than water I guess

James is a Captain? HAHAHAHAHA JAMES IS A CAPTAIN??? CAPTAIN OF WHAT? FUCKING SHIT UP?

I can't believe we're at 51% and nothing has happened. And I don't know why I'm surprised, not like the rest of this series had some major incidents

"Warner demoted me."

He should have fucking jailed you

This is sweet. This is really sweet. It's like a glimpse to the old Juliette and Aaron that I know. But people might actively be dying and he's picking up a book, and that isn't very world saving leader-ish of him.

We know Nazeera's house is empty. We know Rosabelle's sleeping and living condition is awful at Nazeera's house. We figured that out maybe five chapters ago. Why are we dragging this out? This time could have clearly been put on the world building instead.

James has remained in Nazeera's house for the last ten chapters I think.

"Over and over I realize how badly I’ve underestimated the intelligence of the Anderson brothers."

Girl what could you have possibly underestimated when there clearly is none of that shit in either of them? And Adam is just dumb by default, apparently.

Can't all the women be strong in this book at the same time? Must it only be Rosabelle? What is happening to Juliette and Nazeera?
