A little conflicted about the Heiress/Heir dynamic in the Demon Lords Courtship season because some of those demons should be gay especially if they’re just impotent from jump…but I did appreciate the whole framing wasn’t just forced proximity trope bullshit and the ambiguity of what the demons do to become earthbound allowed tension to rise in Judith’s story more and more until we get to this quagmire

Crazy there’s a plot point in this book where a character is banished from society in New York and they move to….Ohio. Like this is 1870 not 1825 Ohio is nowhere near west enough…your ass better be in Chicago at a minimum, Sioux Falls WY if we’re standing on business

I like Nghi Vos writing style but then she’ll do an internal cool girl monologue about the syrup covered cherries and I start getting Hannah Swenson in Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder flashbacks…I don’t need my MC to be relatable or so adorkably defiant like just have her navigate the world based on her background not as a constant lamp shading hat tip
