One thing that’s really bothering me about this book is that they are clearly in some kind of different world / universe, but the world building is just not there in anyway shape or forms. So it’s like our world, but minimally different, but these differences are important to their world, and just never explained or expanded upon to show why they are important?

Not the book I thought I was signing up for at all 😔

First of all, why did Goodreads say I finished this already? Second of all, in what world is this book gothic?!?

I have a very sneaking suspicion that this is not going to be the book I thought it was at all (not in a good way)
