To be perfectly honest --- and I know this comment will go against the grain --- this novel is horrifically dull. I have been following these characters for nearly 400pgs, and it feels like nothing ever happens. And the few times anything "important" happen (such as Pug meeting with Hitler, Briny & Natalie in Poland during the bombings), it feels so contrived. You can see the master of puppets pulling strings.

Not yet in love with this one. My expectations were sky high, so it has had somewhat of an unfair bar to jump over.
