Jonas is now able to act adversely to how he was raised. He can now lie, be rude, but also he cannot take medication. He has received assignment as the receiver - it is a high title and he is coming to terms with how this will affect his relationships.

It’s interesting that the children don’t have language for everything. It is also interesting that the families have to share feelings every night. I’m learning more about the 12 and how they are given assignments I wonder what Jonas will be assigned to. I just learned that older people don’t die naturally but they are released. This sounds like a totalitarian government.
