Yes, I know, Théo, how much you like Kafka.I got a call from reception saying I had a delivery. It was this book. In the lift, I opened it to a random page and read this.
You made a very accurate point, without your will.No matter what page you open in one of his books, nothing is devoid of meaning. He make even the comma feel heavy.
Oh,...And do we hide from ourselves what we hide from others? Oh well, I don’t know. We all have things we keep secret. ...but one day, the mask might fall.
Yes. But we are much better at lying to ourselves than we are to anyone else. And that mask might fall, exactly. And you realize it wasn't a mask at all, but the only face you had left. The real danger isn't that others will see your true face. It is that you look in the mirror and realize you no longer recognize the person who was wearing it. And that is terrifying.
Peut-être..A relief of à blank page, frightening at first, but completely free. Besides, being yourself is peaceful. All things come naturally, without any effort.
Aaaa...that quote...It is complicate. Being superior to your former self.. Because your worst enemy is the one looking back at you in the mirror. It just means that today you are more honest with yourself that you were yesterday.
Oh, makes sense It’s amazing how you and I always have things to talk about. I don't even know how we started. It was about living poetically and revolutions, right?
What a coincidence: Hemingway and Kafka. Your favorite writers. Don't forget Albert Camus. Just so you know, I might have to unfriend you otherwise. :))
I guess our Big Bang was long time ago.. Since then, everything start spontaneously, without the fear of à free speech. Living poetically is exactly this. To let the rules, and living in the anarchy of your thoughts.
Camus is in Hemingway and Kafka as well. He is partout. Even if we don't realize. Is our joy of life.
Un vrai plaisir, Celeste. Chaque jour plus qu'hier, et moins que demain.Je vous remercie de tout cœur.

And thinking of him, I'd say that testing yourself against mankind doesn't change who you are, it just proves you were right about yourself all along. And given how honest he is with himself, his advice doesn't surprise me. He always proved that the most terrifying cage is the one we build out of our own thoughts.
Merci, Celeste
