I think it’s interesting that in the foreword Lowry mentions she had gotten a letter from someone saying “Jesus would be ashamed of you” when like the whole point of this book is saying how we can’t understand Good without Bad. Isn’t that like the point of free will

Completely forgot that this first chapter hits you like a smack to the face. Nothing even happens. Lowry is just that good at explaining terrible settings
