Elijah Halford’s Reviews > God's Word Alone—The Authority of Scripture: What the Reformers Taught… and Why It Still Matters > Status Update

lol, I’m listening to a debate on SS between Gavin Ortlund and Trent Horn, and I thought GO was doing pretty good for most of it(keeping it close), but he’s getting smoked at the end. Like on paper it makes a lot of sense, but Trent is poking so many holes in it and showing it’s not actually a solid foundation like it might seem. Ig I’ll have to read GO’s book to see if he can make his case stronger

This book kinda stinks so far. Very much not what I was looking for. But I’m currently listening to a debate on SS with Trent Horn and Gavin Ortlund, and Gavin is a really strong defender of Protestantism. I have it book on my shelf and ready to read

How does this have to do with Sola Scriptura…?

Holy moly. He’s a bigger John Calvin stan than Grant Scheibout

I listened to a good debate with James White and Patrick Madrid on this topic too

This first part in the history of the views of scripture and how it should be read and stuff is so helpful
