Overall, I liked this… they were definitely thirsty! The two POV protagonists spent most of the book apart. The book was split in half between their POVs instead of alternating. It was character driven & sequential as opposed to plot focused. What I liked most was that it felt like a love letter to Buenos Aires; I enjoyed both the historical explanations & the modern day explanation of the city.

It was a good enough vampire story for me :3 The narration was too slow for me; I had to listen to this at 1.1x speed. My general rule is that if a book is under 250 pages, I’ll listen to the Libby audio book instead of read the text version (if available). I’m glad Alma’s mom reached peace. She decided to explore a new path by joining the vampire & being turned (presumably). Which is interesting.

Vampire lady turned a woman left for dead; but she unsurprisingly didn’t want to be a vampire. Human lady is balancing her mother’s declining health with raising her 5 y/o son Santiago. She inherited a crypt, which probably houses the vampire lady since it’s linked to Mario.

(From yesterday) Leonardo wanted to turn her into a museum exhibit… she should give up men 🤔 She had to kill him, run away, & now lives in a crypt…

*bisexual vampire! She’s definitely very thirsty lol. This feels like a love letter to Buenos Aires; the history & setting is described very vividly. There’s not much of a plot, just the MC vampire seducing & draining people, which I’m not entirely opposed to. I do really like the historical context.
