I'm finally starting to get it, but it took awfully long

I hate when the author drops such cool sentences but then won't explain it for 200 pages, I feel like so much important information is missing and I wish they would have been, at least, a bit explained instead of just being confusing?

I don't wanna DNF, but right now I'm super confused. Why did they think he could bring them back to life? How do his power accomplish that? My FOMO is the only think holding me here.
