These characters are slowly wrapping themselves around my heart 🥹

The story is full of references to biology, nature and themes of mating, growth, and natural cycles

Three different storylines but with an underlying theme of women in science

Lusa is having to navigate her grief alongside his estranged family who seem to want her out of the “family” home

I’m listening to the audiobook thanks to my library’s Libby app. The audiobook is narrated by the author herself, and she has such a soothing voice. There’s something extra special about an author speaking her own words

This book is a recommendation from my friend @alison.is.probably.reading as part of my 6 books from 6 friends in 2026 challenge. I’ve only read Demon Copperhead by this author and am anticipating a heavy, character driven read
