Part of my ‘sprinkling in Nobel prize winning literature’ every 5-6 book for the next forseeable future. Love the language, the prose is wonderful. The characters interesting. Oh, how misguided the quest for independence can be. Or? Not sure if I despair, understand or just laugh at Guðbjartur at Summerhouses. He is so delightfully single-minded. More to come.
