It's really a group of short stories that follow as family through generations. I'm not really a big fan of short stories, which is probably why it didn't get 5* from me. I really enjoyed the first two stories of the two sisters, and would have loved to read more about them. Overall, the book is really well written, and quite sad . I would definitely recommend reading it.
