I am trying with this book, but seldom have I had a stronger urge to DNF.

Most characters have little personality. Instalust chemistry (with added “yearning”). Over descriptive writing with way too much tell and exposition that feels like it’s read from a text book. I can’t connect with Kierse, so why would I care what happens to her? Story feels like a shorter, unedited, less interesting Crescent City book.

Writing isn’t great. Hopefully, it gets better.
