Very impressed with how Mann and Gardiner are able to nail the voices of characters from the first film, particularly Pacino and De Niro, even in their inner monologues

It’s not every day that the author of the book you’re currently reading accidentally shoots themselves in the leg and I just wanted to commemorate that

When Vincent Hanna first arrives at a crime scene in Heat, he immediately demonstrates how skilled of a detective he is with what he observes and how he takes over an investigation. It’s very cool to read what is going on in his head as he processes everything… like for a viewer it’s a matter of seconds, so it’s interesting to see everything he assesses by the millisecond

Referencing Top Gun in a chapter that is taking the POV of a character originated by Val Kilmer is objectively funny
