So glad I stuck through with this book. I'm thinking of giving it a 4.5, not because it is the best written novel I've ever read, but just based on entertainment value alone which is a HIGH PRAISE. Who knew reading about basketball would be so entertaining. He's open my horizons to a brand new genre.

That Duke vs Central Chapter 44 was perfection. I had my doubts but John can definitely write a story. He's earned some placements on my 2027 TBR.

Character development is certainly lacking. I can tell Grisham is a story-teller and much less concerned about crafting a world/relationships/emotions etc. It seems like he writes books with the sole goal of delivering a compelling story, not necessarily a book for someone to get lost in. It’s a nice popcorn book.

Hmm... the character development seems to be lacking severely, however it may just be that I'm not used to Grisham's writing style so I'm going to give it more time. Apparently he's more of a plot writer than a character writer, so I won't give up on it just because it's not what I'm used to.
