Some poems can defiantly read self centered. “I was so amazing that I will stick with you through all your new relationships and it’ll make your new girl miserable” basically. On top of that, some of the poems read quite amateur. I like when poems make me think, and some poems I’ll read and just think ‘ok, yeah’ and that’s it. Not hating this book so far, though

Another thing I wanted to mention was the lack of punctuation. Maybe it’s a scheme to get you to read it over to figure out how a poem is supposed to be read, but it’s very annoying. Took me a few minutes to make sense of one poem because of the major lack of commas. And also the lack of capitalization at points isn’t great either

“You were so afraid of my voice, I decided to be afraid of it too” stuck with me. When I thought about it, it seemed to be about rape, especially considering the other initial poems. Though, I can see it applying in other ways, too. That’s the beauty of poems.
Otherwise, the poems can be rather hit or miss. For the most post, I like them.
