A total blast. The sense of humor Philyaw brought to The Secret Lives of Church Ladies remains front and center. This is a little over the top, bbut also pretty dead-on in its depiction of Atlanta Area Black mega-church culture from what my Atlanta friends have told me. When Creflow Dollar lent our central couple his plane for their honeymoon, I cracked up! So far, I am loving this!

Philyaw is really funny and observant, and she has a lot to say. There are a lot of epic one-liners as she mows down the hypocrisy of the evangelical megachurch structure, the powerless who attack others so they do not have to think about their own weakness, and the patriarchy in general.
