Emily Marquez’s Reviews > Becoming Mrs. Lewis > Status Update

Oh no…. I fear this book might wreck me..

I momentarily forgot it is this very story that inspired a grief observed.

“ because eventually, for love to be true, we must show our real faces…. It is the journey from possessive love to wholesome love.”

Ladies…. I’ve decided if I can’t fall in love with CS Lewis and have a love story like Joy Davidman… I don’t think I wanna fall in love at all. 😂

Again… she’s spending Christmas with Lewis and Tolkien..

Oh the money I would pay to spend Christmas in Oxford with CS Lewis, his brother, and Tollers..

“There's this gap, Jack. This opening between the story it is and the story I had wanted it to be-that's where the pain is, and that's where God came in and where I now hope transformation can happen."

Love is such a complicated thing, with added pain when we attempt to find it outside of the parameters got set for us in his word.

I wish that the story was simple, easy, and romantic (I am sure Jack and Joy did it too) nevertheless I shall persevere and continue.

The right book at the right time. ❤️
