Thus far these are very interesting and entertaining. Filled with far more in the way of Bond's internal thoughts, fears, opinions, and aesthetic judgements than I would have ever expected. There are also historical tidbits of British empire and its management and colonial history that are revealing. I'm considering purchasing the Penguin box set of paperbacks and reading all fourteen volumes!
