this book… it’s so different. the premise of a matriarchal society seems so strange, yet i keep thinking of it was the men in charge the book wouldn’t feel different, highlighting maybe my own misogyny, even as a self proclaimed feminist myself. how interesting. also the first line i was very much not anticipating.
