the beginning writes as if the readers haven’t read the first book😭

and lowk why did we lose all the character development from ness? she repeats that she feels “safe” with Cy, but she contradicts that so many times by still fearing him

plus at the end of the first book, she says she’s gonna start being brave etc, but here she’s just gone back to being a coward again
