Emma T ❧ Throne Warden (DaughterOfAslan2362) Many Christians believe that the highest calling God has placed on us is to be nice, but that's not true.
God has not called us to be nice. Rather, he has called us to be good. There's a difference. Nice people never confront evil. Good people do. Nice people allow the abuse of themselves and others. Good people defend the defenseless.
Jesus wasn't nice. He was kind, he was compassionate, he was caring, but he was unbending and unflinching when it came to standing for the truth.
And it cost him his life.
~ Paraphrased from Bryan Fischer

"Love is something more stern and splendid than
mere kindness."

~ C.S. Lewis, from The Problem of Pain, chapter 3

YES! I would highly recommend reading C.S. Lewis' The Problem of Pain, even just chapter 3, for a really great argument for why this is true.
