Well this book definitely has a reputation that's mixed at best. Having no interest in Empire of the Vampire and Nevernight's extremeness (gratuity), I still am interested in Jay Kristoff's writing and funky steampunk with chainsaw katanas is definitely the fun lane I lean towards. Ppl respond very strongly to certain aspects of this story that seem either blown up or accurate. Expect to dnf but hoping for the best

I’ve never heard of anyone (definitely not myself) going into a book “expecting to DNF”. I mean why? Life’s too short.

Lol I dnf without shame most of the time unless it's a book I've bought. I tried reading Crime and Punishment 3 separate times and get about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way before i get sick of the thing. I swear it sits there and mocks me from my bookshelf.
