SUMMARY: Sophie's story starts when she goes to the museum at a high school field trip in San Diego. Although she is twelve, she is known as a child prodigy. An elf named Fitz takes her to the elf community's lost city and has been searching for her. She discovers she is an elf and realizes that is the reason she can read minds and does not fit in. So far, she makes a decision to leave her family and join the elves.
