I've got 20hr 35min left to go. It has gotten very dark very quickly. So far, I have thought the book is excellent, and I have always said I like it when authors push the boundaries and shock me. Goodkind has achieved this with his antagonists Ritual for travel to the underworld.

Whether I am able to continue reading after the level of shock, I am still deciding. I applaud his efforts to craft a villain so well.
