It all depends on the execution. Is the best friend in love with her? Or more of a best buddy? For some reason this question makes me think about To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. Have you read it? The heroine had a crush on her best friend but then her sister scooped him up before she could do or say anything about it. Neither the sister or the friend were aware of her crush. Fortunately the heroine finds love with the fake boyfriend she comes up with to make it look like she’s over her crush.
Bother's best friend because I see best friend's brother as unecessary drama when everyone is a grown up, don't ask me why i do the difference tho xD
