stopped and started this twice already, it's a very tough read. i had doubts about the veracity of the translation because of a sentence that didn't make grammatical sense in the first paragraph (it was the third sentence if i recall correctly)! i wasn't imagining things, it turns out there was a huge controversy about the accuracy of Smith's translation. taking notes and reading closely has made this attempt better.

struggling with this one, and i think it's because of a funky translation (the ONLY available translation i fear), because some of the sentences make no sense, there's strange errors and clunky, seemingly-misplaced or misunderstood words.
apparently this was a whole thing when it was published! i'm not losing my mind. but i am again having my book translation interests piqued, and i'm seeing what they say about it!
