Tonight’s stories were wildly different but both memorable. “Jael” was much heavier than I expected, dealing with generational trauma, religion, grief, and a young girl carrying far more than the adults around her seemed willing to acknowledge. “Instructions for Married Christian Husbands” was much lighter & sharper, & I loved how clear the main character was about her boundaries, desires, & expectations.

Finished How to Make Love to a Physicist. Still enjoying the collection overall, but this one was just okay for me. Some of the emotional themes worked, but a few character choices frustrated me.

Snowfall was tender but frustrating. I understood the different kinds of rejection Lily and Rhonda were dealing with, but Rhonda’s resentment toward Lily felt unfair. I loved the crab boil gesture, but whew… these women needed to communicate. 😭
