Mr.Stevens is the character who’s confused, as one is with all the bombardment of rules and information this world has. But he’s determined to be devoted to his customs and to maintain his “dignity”.
It rarely happens that you come across a novel that moves you deeply with such naive characters and I’m glad i came across this one. Made me laugh, question, feel pity, and accept the “facts of life”.
