I’ve noticed Egger’s do a clever technique where we, the reader, are given an insight into the protagonists inner thoughts and then rather than relay the action following, it skips to the reaction of the other character.
Eg.
He had the idea that he’d go to the bathroom to pee and pour cold water on his face.
“Okay, I’ll stay here and guard your beer,” Olympia said.

So clever and refreshing!
