I love Ishiguro, but this book drove me absolutely crazy. I felt like I’d walked alongside Beatrice and Axl for a while, watched the distant hills with them and then quietly slipped away. I hope you have better luck with it than I did! 😊

Tbh Pia I actually tried to read this book years ago but gave up unfortunately 😅 but I love Ishiguro’s writing so much , he’s one of my favorite modern authors! So now that I’m older and wiser I want to give this book another try 😊

Maybe older and wiser Alexandra will have better luck with it this time.🥰 I do think some books just meet us at the wrong moment, so I’m really curious whether it’ll feel different for you now. And please don’t let my two stars scare you off!

Hahaha don’t worry Pia! I’m definitely keeping an open mind! After reading 3 books by him I’ve got the hang of it. I kinda know what to expect from him and maybe I’ll see this story unfold in a different way 😊 I’m up for the challenge! I’m curious to know what exactly went wrong with your reading haha
