It is SO enjoyable to read a novelised look at pre-Covid Germany and how it all developed during the pandemic. I remember a lot of this even if I live in a completely different part of Germany than where this is set.

This is the best Juli Zeh novel I've read (I think it's #4 or 5). Well put together and great characters. A fabulous Corona novel! (so far)

I wonder if this comes translated in English because I would love to read this… what part are you from? Even though I am American, my ancestors came from Germany (and the other side came from Ireland) back around the 1850s-1880s.

I originally am from the US, too, but immigrated to Germany some 30 years ago. I live in Bavaria in the south of Germany. This takes place in Brandenburg, the state that surrounds Berlin.
Oh that’s incredible! What an interesting story your life must be. Have you been back to America since? It’s probably nothing like what you remember it.

No real interest and no family there any more, either. A lot of stuff is probably different on the surface, but I can't imagine Americans themselves have changed much fundamentally!
