i got to start this book on a long mtr ride (on the east rail line!)
this morning, i finished drive my car (the first short story of seven) and i think murakami (as a brilliant novelist) thrives in short stories — i'm immediately hooked <3
also, i NEED to watch the movie adaptation of drive my car!!! (i'm surprised they were able to since it was 40 pages long but the trailer seems lovely)

2/7 of the short stories read!
i think that Drive My Car is an overall 'tighter' story (i looked up synonyms: well-paced, concise...) but i'm a sucker for old friendships you still think about, no matter how long ago and abruptly they dwindle out. plus i'm a sucker for song lyrics & the beatles so i'm sure that did some heavy lifting evoking-my-emotion-wise.
